Soil units at an approximate 1:50.000 scale are the most detailed soil descriptions currently available for the whole state of Baden Wurttemberg, Germany. Every soil unit represents a combination of soils which are similar in terms of their characteristic properties and parent material. Each polygon comes with a description of the soil predominant in that particular pedological unit. The description includes information on soil formation, soil type, parent material, topography and less dominant, but related soils.
